Landscape/Seascape
This photograph is most powerful in depth of field. This picture has a shallow depth of field with the rocks as the foregroung, the water as a middle ground, and the land as a background. The leading lines, the edges of the rock, lead the viewer to the center of the picture: the sun. My point of view was from the ground, crouching down and placing the camera near the rocks. The focus is on the rocks, leaving most of the picture blurry. I feel like the sunset between the blue sky and the blue ocean bring out the color of the sunset more. This picture was taken at ocean grove beach.
Lines and Shapes
The picture is most powerful in lines and shape. The pattern and design of the hose make the hose look more detailed. My point of view was at a downward angle. I was croutching as well. This picture uses the rule of thirds, not completley centering the picture. The dull color of the dead leaves bring out the green vibrant color of the garden hose. This photo is artistically interesting because the hose seem as if they continue on off the picture. It is a mystery.
Painting Light
This picture is very strong in rhythm. The continous curves of the light give the effect that the light goes on forever. This picture was created by twirling a short string of christmas lights in a circular motion. I used a slow shutter speed with an exposure of 10 seconds. The object was about four feet from the camera, not allowing the camera to fully capture the motion. I feel as if this picture leaves the viewer feeling as if the picture is actually moving.
Depth of Field
This picture is very strong in depth of field. It has shallow depth of field with the orange chair as a foreground, the first yellow chair as the middle ground, and the last yellow chair as the background. This photo also has strong lines and shapes in the chairs. The orange chair acts as a frame for the rest of the picture. The picture was taken in the old auditorium knelt down. The colors of the chairs are vibrant and bring out eachother. The focus is on the chairs in the back rather the chair in the front. This picture is astistically strong because of the playful colors which create a sense of happiness.
Motion
This picture is very strong in motion. This picture was taken on the front lawn of the High School. The ball can be seen as the foreground, the person as the middleground, and the land as the background. This picture was taken from a distance of about five feet. The motion in this picture was captured by the person throwing the ball up and down and using a fast shutter speed of 60. This picture is artistically interesting because it creates an illusion of the tennis ball having no gravity.
Shadow and Reflection
This picture has strong shadows and relections. It is a reflection within a reflection. in the car mirror, is the relection of the car, and the car has a relection of the trees and sky. There is also a sense of large depth of field within the mirror. This photo was taken with a slow shutter speed, leaving the background blurry. I feel as if the picture is artistically interesting because of the subject matters within the mirror.
